Step 1 — Welcome Guess the hidden word. After each guess, the ✓ and × scores guide your next move.
Step 2 — Modes Challenge gives one shared daily puzzle. Practice gives unlimited puzzles to learn and experiment. Tap the mode button to switch.
Step 3 — Word length Tap the length button to switch between 4 and 5-letter words. 4-letter games give 8 tries. 5-letter games give 10 tries.
Step 4 — Keyboard Tap letters to build your guess. Press Enter to submit. Long-press a key to cross it out as a note. Long-press again to restore it.
Step 5 — Scoring ✓ = correct letter in the correct position. × = correct letter but in the wrong position. Use both scores together to refine your next guess.
Step 6 — Clues Two optional clues are available in Challenge mode. Use them only when needed — they unlock after a few guesses.
Step 7 — Share & Stats Use Share to send your result to friends. Use Stats to review your wins, streaks, and performance over time.
Step 8 — Ready Start with a simple guess, read the scores, and keep narrowing it down. Good luck — and Shabaash when you solve it! 🎉
Help Features
All help features are optional. You can use them, or solve the puzzle without assistance.
Clues: available only in Challenge mode. There are 2 optional clue levels that unlock as the game progresses.
Hints: long-press the ✓ or × score box to reveal a hint letter. Practice mode has unlimited hints. Challenge mode allows 2 hints for 4-letter games and 3 hints for 5-letter games.
Keyboard cross-out: auto cross-out happens when a guess scores 0–0. Manual cross-out is your own note — long-press any key to cross it out, and long-press again to restore it.
Tap the timer display at any time to pause it. The timer turns amber and shows ⏸ to indicate it is paused. Tap again to resume. The paused state is saved — but the timer does not resume automatically when you reopen the app. To continue timing, tap the timer or enter a guess. Times over one hour display as H:MM:SS.
Why Shabaash
Shabaash (शाबाश) is a Hindi expression meaning “Well done!” or “Bravo!”.
The name also echoes two Hindi words: shabad (शब्द), meaning word, and akshar (अक्षर), meaning letter.
In the game, players use logic and letters to discover the hidden word.
